    Zvezda Ju-88A-4

Post  Scirocco on Sat Oct 23, 2010 9:11 pm

I've been working on this on and off for the past 5-6 months. The camo pattern could be better than it is and there are some mistakes on my part and the kit's as well. Still requires some more work to be complete. Decals are from a set for Operation Pedestal which includes German, Italian and FAA aircraft all linked to the Convoy that saved Malta from being captured by the Axis.

What the hell is wrong with that Gordon? That is a really nice scheme. You put yourself down too much. Excellent work and a very nice and attractive scheme you chose. Well done.

Gordon if that version is an A-4, you have to change the rudder because the kit rudder is an A-1 to 5 version...

and the prop are the wrong shape... they are for late versions..

    A-1 to 5

    A-4 and onwards

Oops! I missed the rudder issue completely Skyhigh. It's a little late to correct it now as I would have to cut through the finished model. It shows again that I need to research more before committing to a project. The decal sheet does show the correct rudder shape but I did not notice that. Zvezda might be boxing the same kit as different versions as most of the manufacturers do nowadays. The propellers are much easier to correct if I come by a suitable pair.

Nearly done now, with the pointed inaccuracies! I shall try to make the rigging later on.
