    Hi,

Thought I should post some progress pictures so those who are interested can leave criticism so I can become better!

    So here goes:

When assembling the muffler it broke:

So I had to redo it. (Oliver laughed and said with a smile, "It's easy Tiny, it's soo easy")

    Primed everything with Vallejo Air:

CLEAN BUILD TINY AND THE AIRBRUSHING IS QUITE GOOD. WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST HOWEVER IS TO GIVE THE MODEL AN VERY HIGHLY DILUTED OVERSPRAY OF THE BASE COLOUR. 5%PAINT 95% DILLUANT THAT WAY YOU WILL BLEND IN THE DARK SHADE WITH THE BASIC COLOUR
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. SEE, YOURE GETTING BETTER ALREADY

Great build....nice and clean like a surgeon's work! cheers

Dunno if u intend the opaintwork to be in its final shade....if yes I would suggest u heed Alex's suggestion and overspray a thin coat of the panzer grey to tone down the shades a little bit...

Lookin forward to more....but dont go for too many techniques at once....GET IT FINISHED!

God damnit S**TF**K I hate painting!!

It's official, I will hereby only paint using single color straight from the bottle (the scheme might be tricolor).

Tried to highlight the hatches and so on but it came out looking .. like me on the day after a night out..

So I fired up some Lifecolors in my trusty airgun and shot the following layer of Panzer Grey (RAL 7021, supposed to be the original color of the tanks from the workshop)
Don't know what to do.. keep it or do a new try with preshading or?

Be patient Viking it looks perfect lol!

You have two options Twisted Evil

No1 You surrender to your enemy and leave it as it is, thus denying your SSM Brotherhood and embracing that of the Yellow Coward Brotherhood pale

No2 Pick yourself up, put on your helmet, grab your sword and sheild and CHARGE the enemy head on with a new try at preshading like the true SSM Brother you are pirat

The choice is yours. Better to die young and be remembered then die an OLD HIDING COWERING Veteran Sad Remember ODIN and your VIKING forefathers. Make them proud of you and make us proud of you Shocked

I suggest you try the preshading again. You were well on the right track. the only thing you did wrong was to spray the entire tank with the original colour which was too opaque. When you respray to blend in the colours, the paint has to be heavily thinned dopwn so that you can build up your work slowly in multiple passes. Go for it again and preshade and highlight again then thin the original paint a lot before blending in the colours otherwise all the work would have been in vain. a very common mistake.

Sorry guys but why all this enphasise on preshading, Panzer Grey is already a damn dark colour and if one is using preshading to create demarkation in the panels I rather suggest controlled pin washing.

Personally I would more suggest an overhead overall gradation colour, to highlight the modular block design of the tank. Overhead spraying as Alex suggested will give a 3D dimension to the tank, hence the turret would get a more highlighted area. Panzer Grey is a very tricky colour, apart that till date no one is 100% sure what was the tonality [please Marco do not start any thread with suggestions LOL]it is a dark mute colour and needs some highlighting to create definition IMO.

Tiny I think you have already have a very good base, I would try to mix the Drak Grey that you have with a lighter greyish blue mix to create a highlight and overhead spray the tank from a particular angle, work in diluted sessions and progress to the highlight in stages. NB. I am still not convinced with that gun mantled, I see it too long for an early Pz4, might I be wrong as I am more in love with ruskie tanks ... check it out with referances mate ...

Keep the good work, you have acheived a very smooth finish coat ... PROSIT!

Go for basics first....filters...pin wash...chipping...and get a model done....

Step up for your next model then....but at least you'll hit nthe shelves with your first model and not get frustrated for not finishing anything...

If you take a look at this picture, you can see the uneveness (if that's a word) of the paint.

OK, it's been some blood-spill over this build.

The barrel was wrongly assembled so I decided to build the turret from the other kit.. from which I've stolen a few things since they vanished from the other kid. Said and done, trying to disassemble the turret I stuck the blade in my finger.

Where's mommy when I need her?!
