Hey guys two weeks ago i was in Venice and they have a very nice maritime museum there (nothing that even comes near ours) but it is nice. The exhibit which captivated my interest is a complete example of a maiale and i decided to take some reference pics for all to see if you might need them. It is not everyday you see a real one intact and authentic. Some photos Maile110

Thanks Brian for sharing, infact there are only few around, this one, another one in Milan and one at Taormina gardens, Sicily. Probably this one though is one of the few that is almost intact ...

How is teh Venice Maritime Museum, they have a nice collection of models I was told, did you also visit the Doce's Palace?

Ivan they have a good number of models, some are nice others not so. As a museum it is ok and you can spend a morning there. There is plenty to see but not many artefacts, IMHO ours is much better but i was really amazed to see the maile and that is located at the museum's entrance. Malta is mentioned of course in the list of places where they saw action but there is no account of what happened. As for the Doce's Palace, no words can ever describe that experience and it is worth visiting Venice just to see that palace, totally awesome and leaves you staring, utterly speechless, the amount of art in that place is brilliant. there is also a very nice and well equipped armory, once again, ours is better but you get to see some arms which you don;t normally see.

They have a unique collection in the armoury Brian, it's venetian design so exclusive to italian culture ... I have visited Venice twice but never paid a visit, a good excuse to return one day Smile
