Jes, if the permit is approved (no one will blame you if it will be revoked don't worry Sad Twisted Evil ) we're having a pasta night & some soldering lessons as well this Wed, so a night with the SSM boys at HOME should soften your wife's heart a wee bit pale

These are some photos of the real one...(I managed to get these from Geoff Martin of Afterburner Decals and quite a lot of info from a certain Scott Wilson , the last one knows everything on the F-4 especially the E`s )...

    Thank you guys
At the moment i am working on a P-39 Q..one of the planes flown by the Tuskgee Squadron...
The movie Red Tails inspired me, even though they didnt show it on the film (one of the mistakes was that after the P-40 the squadron switched to P-39 then to P-47 and finally to the P-51`s)
Lot of work involved , I dont like kits staright from the box, I always go the longer route..
Eventually I will open a thread obout the built...
as mentioned lot of cutting , it will have gun and engine showing, plus the usual wheel wells , flaps etc...

Darn, I thought it was a bigger scale. There's a huge ammount of details, especially in the pit. I have a 1:48 scale phantom "Monogram" but the details are very basic.

When you say you go the longer route, do you purchase additional parts to improve it or make them yourself? I mostly always went to what's in the box.

Very Happy I go on the Hannants and other various shops websites and I key the name of the plane ,scale etc and whatever is available (detail sets etc) , I go for it. Even though I do a wee bit of research so that my finished product is as close as possible to the real deal.
All in all the kit ,probably is the cheapest item of the whole package..
and on this kit the worst bit were the wheel wells, the amount of time it takes to replace the kits is unreal, and patience too...lot of thinning to the wings etc..

So all the details in the pit where added? and not already there out of the box?
    F-4 E 337th Drone Killer - Page 2 F_4_e210

    1. the pilot air hoses
    2. panel instrument details
    3. seat belts//harnesses
    4. ejector levers
    etc etc???

I do not have any of those on my model

No maxi that pit is not the kit`s pit, its an old Kendall resin type, but at the moment there is a good Aires pit, in myview Aires are one of the best brands for resin extras.
On my kit I used the wheel wells , and the afterburners form their range.

AHHHHH!!! ok Smile that explains all.

Well for now I'm gonna stick to the kit's pit and see how the over all result comes out, if I manage to bring it together well, I will maybe try another kit but get a more detailed pit.

I got so many kits here which I was trying to sell on maltapark and facebook Razz all 1:48 scale. Amongst all, the biggest models I have are the B-29 and B-17 Razz and a C-130 gunship which I started 18 years ago but never finished.
