    Regia Aernautica Ju87 Stuka 'Picchiatello'

There is photographic evidence that these were in splinter scheme and some with german marking looking to be painted over.

Thanks for the pictures. From the information I have found so far it seems that most were finished in standard german splinter schemes including the D3. The only overall green stuka I have found till now is a D3 after italy switched sides. As for the pictures showing what looks like a single color it may be due to camera film and weathering of the paintwork. After all the stukas that were not shot down were worked to their airframe fatigue limit.

Even in these luftwaffe machines, the splinter is there but barely visible, which might give the impression of a single color.
