    Panzer 35(t) Empty Panzer 35(t)

Post  Tancred Sat Mar 03, 2012 6:47 pm

After a too long hiatus of doing nothing Sleep I decided to start something new. I built this re-release by Tamiya of a CMK kit of the Czech made Panzer 35(t) and it's ready for priming.

Only improvements are the barrel, tracks and some wiring.

For the tracks will try out this metal burnishing agent product. Should get a realistic finish with little effort Smile

It will be painted overall Panzer grey with Polish campaign markings.

on the left upper hull side might I suggest you roll a thin cylinder of sand paper and thin the plastic a bit to make it look a bit more in scale...you only need to thin the leading edge...

    Just a suggestion...

Panzer 35(t) Empty Mutley and Wayne...

Post  Dottore Sun Mar 04, 2012 12:35 pm

he wrote burnish but meant TARNISH! It is similar to a product I use (great product I might add) called Blacken It. It immediately rusts and weathers white metal, brass and other metal products except Stainless Steel. The end result is the real thing so IMHO nothing beats it. Also the rust effect doesnt flake or chip exposing bright metal but the points in contact with the ground can be sanded lightly to expose the metal and give a very realistic effect...

I'm surprised you never heard of these products MUTLEY...

Nice Skoda Tancred ... lovely clean built may I just add to what Doc added, I would swop those MGs [Czech ZB vz.37), check these from RB Model and quite cheap http://www.rbmodel.com/index.php?action=products&cat=c_bm&sub=35B

By the way what scheme are you planning this tank, there were some exotic versions then the usual panzer grey ...

    http://www.angelfire.com/pro/bison/35117.html

One of my to do projects, have still the original version in my stash ...

Joe originally this tank was designed by Skoda for the Czech army, infact the camo one is the original pre-war version, when their country was 'annexed' to Germany obviously the army took them over and some went to teh Slovak army [used in Russia with a similar scheme and white cross, during Barbarossa], some went to teh WaffenSS and Army and some sold also to Romania, most were lost during the Don/Stalingrad campaign were the Romanian army was almost annihalated by the Soviet tank regiments [pitted against T34 and KV1s].

Yep Joseph, this tank design was very important to future succesful developments. This was the precessor of the iconic 38t, which suspension was so good for it's time that was developed into further tanks like the Marder series and the Hetzer.
