That scheme is RLM 70 RLM 71 and RLM 65 the scribble is white ..later I post you the pic..of this paticular aircraft ...
Another thing Chris this is a Ju87 D-3 you have to correct the leading part of the exhaust , because the kit give the later version...I will send you some pics...

WOW that mottling is really mesmerizing!

The other bomber, how did you darken the panel lines? sprayed black paint heavily thinned like 2:10??

    Marco,

Though I agree with you that the white camo might be more accurate thinner, I feel that we can give a benefit of doubt. This type of scheme is notsomething coming from the book or factory finish. Germans when they got hit by snow storms tried to camo with anything, in AFV there are photos with blankets and chalk as white was not avaialble immediately. Probably these stukas ended camoed like this as an 'economical' measure to manage all planes, it was no artistry involved and probably they were done haphazardly u bl-addocc. White paint was thinned with water in AFV probably same in aircraft and I guess they used anything, from the looks these were sprayed but I doubt that who done the job cared to have each line the same width. I have seen crews working with brooms, mops, strands of twigs, hands etc etc ... results are not artist paintings ... that was an emergency measure, for me that image of that model of the stuka you showed is too prestine 'factory finish' IMHO ... as usual it is a matter of how you eye the finish, but personally I am on the side of realism then those who love to show how good they are to acheive hairlines with airbrush ...

Perosnally I think Chris acheived a weathered camo effect, one that has seen some work and is getting a washed out effect ...

    Marco

Books are for referance not BIBLES

Though you are right but we are just seeing one or two aircraft not the whole squad, apart that we are just seeing just an area of the plane not the whole sides. Apart what happened after that photo is also speculative ...

My only point is if you are making THAT particular model, in that particular scene and moment, yes you are turning that photo to 3D BUT if you are taking just a referance from that photo no one can judge what happened next ... you just take the photo as referance and a starting point.

Surely NO two models of stukas in that squad had the same squiggle, you might be very right that Chris 'snakes' are not sharp as per photo but we can never estimate that there was another not similar to his work could be there were also some that were hand painted ... so we give the benefit of the doubt to the modeller tongue

No I do not think this is a start of another batibekk, there is room for both considerations IMHO ... apart Marco is one that knows his books very well!

My critic is on Chris models and the model Marco presented [which we do not now who he is and I am sorry to use for consideration] ... IMHO both are good in modelling contest, probably both are not that 100% accurate with the scheme, personally I feel Chris's is more realistic to a historical consent whilst the other has a perfect mastery of airbrush and highly artistic, in the miniature world we thrive I think there is room for both styles, finally it's the taste of the modeller and the viewer ... it's like art!

But I think this is something to discuss upon ... dejjem ahjar mis-soltu battibekki u bilhaqq Proximo taghna risposta tajba minflok ninhlew fil-paroli u hin fuq l-forum ghal xejn ara xi skwadra ta mudelli qied jaghmel eh scratch
