Re: Hello Everyone
Good afternoon Robert,
We are very happy to know that you have finally found some time to dedicate to scale modelling, even more now that as you said - you would like to be hands on.
What is your line of modelling - Aircraft, marine or Armoured Vehicles.

Re: Hello Everyone
Thanks Ivan ... we already had an opportunity to meet and communicate through email even though this had nothing to do with scale modelling.
Honestly I like anything military - mostly WW1,WW2 aircraft.
Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to the forum.
I am currently trying to set up some proper gear to get me started. Just got a badger 200-20 - looking for a compressor and accessories. Next step choose a test model probabbly an easy 1:48, paints etc.. and hopefully start testing.
Any suggestions to sellers, reference materials / tips / reviews welcome.
Great to get to know you.

Re: Hello Everyone
Ooops did not regonise you Rob! How are you!
Went to see the foto expo at St James, like it though there was a big mistake, the Libyan armoured vehicle is a BMP1 [I am currently building one] not a BTR as claimed!
So for airbrush accessories try here http://www.airbrushsupplyonline.com/ and name us to get a good price, also try local shops they also get some good compressors!
As for models 1:48 is a good start but do not start with aircraft those are very bad for your health, try figurines or AFVs [hear the flak attacks now]
Welocme Rob and feel free here!

Ivan Ivan this is not fare.......
Hello Robert and wellcome to our forum....
Please be free to choose what is your preference in modeling and don't let anybody to impress you .....
But may I suggest that if you have a hart for wings , go for it ...
I can suggest you to go directly to 1/48 ..try a simply 2 colour grey jet..
now it's your choice to buy Italerie , Airfix.. or if you want we have a lot of cheaper second hand models , of course as kit parts not build....
So again go as you like ..go wingy.....

Re: Hello Everyone
Welcome Robert.
As some of the others said, go with what you like but don't be afraid to experiment. I'm a wing-nut myself but have been known to dab a bit in figures and sports cars too.
I definitely encourage you to come over to the clubhouse and look forward to meeting you. I myself am a relative newcomer to the club and I assure you that you'll be learning from the best!
