    make it x 2!!

Interesting work you are doing. Since practically it seems that it would be a pretty solid hull, what about the weight of the hull? or will you be using it as a master for a sort of fiberglass hull?

Yes its acctually the master for molding, a detailed mold and not so detailed mold. I plan on the first model to be cast in zink, or sheetmetal then start detailing it. I'm going to cast a version in styrafoam to experiment with.

    Good morning Horatio, sunny

Just can't wait to see the hull ready. But be aware that the worst is Yet to come. Both you and I, are working on a substantial large scale, and this induces more detailing. And my friend, the hull was full of details. prepare yourself to plan the following:

    1. Sea Cocks. Evil or Very Mad
    2. Lead anodes - especially attached with the rudders and propellors. Suspect
    3. Port holes and eye brows. Shocked
    4. Riveted belt, at the level of the main deck. What a Face
    5. The water gutter way on the main deck. Rolling Eyes
    6. The eagle and the swastika at the rear of the hull. I love you
    7. The out rigger on each side of the rear of the hull, which was used to protect the propellers + the associated fittings and access ladders. rabbit
    8. The wooden booms. Basketball

Horatio, both of us have a good number of hours of heavy homework study to do. But keep it up mate, keep the progress building, as you are doing a fine job.

Come onmate, let's go commerce raiding.

cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers

Horatio, seeing all that wood going to be buried beneath the piles of putty, wouldn't it have been easier/lighter to have worked with Jablo?

I know it may sound like a silly question, but I am dreading the weight of the ship even if from over here, so far far away pale pale pale

Not a silly question. I want it to be heavy and solid, because I'm using it as a mold plug then either going to use it as a finished model for static display or just for making new molds as needed. I want to make styrafoam toys in this scale, Remote control fiberglass hulls and or sheet steel. So basically diferent grades of toys and Models of the ship. so when this one is done it should weigh about 200 pounds. about 80 Kg I think. LOL it won't be easy to steal from my display base in My house.
