Crashed Aircraft Dio's might be perfect for using old kits which for instance are too inaccurate for a regular build. Mistakes/inaccuracies might be less visible when the aircraft is portrayed in such a scenario. I think that one would find it easier to butcher an old kit which in all probability would never see the light of day otherwise. Furthermore one could really go crazy on weathering.

I might be called a traitor pirat for this but I like the idea. Dunno why but a white Jap Zero crashed in a Pacific jungle (complete with monkeys) springs to mind. Suspect

    Prosit Mark!

Please start updating on Facebook aswell many foreigners are awaiting what happened! And please move this thread to general public!

I concur with you a crashed bird is an awesome dio, BUT I do not completly agree that it is wise to use an old model - crashed, burned or destroyed equipment involves much much more work then one thinks, it is almost a scratchbuilt project and entitles much more thinking and worksmanship as you need to study the material how it obeyes to the distruction and most of the interior detailing ... yet to teh fly nuts think it is a sin I agree that if well executed this might be a masterpiece ... I still admire the old dio by Shep Paine of a crashed B17, simply atrractive ... a zero in a jungle or under the sea is another impressive idea ...

I'm alone on this one by the looks of it Suspect Ok, let's say you're building a kit and something goes so completely wrong that it's beyond salvaging. Wouldn't you consider changing the project into a crashed example rather than boxing it away or getting rid of it?

I agree with you Ivan bdw, that it would take a lot more effort in research, construction etc but since when did SSM shy away from such challenges?

    A crashed Zero

Last time something went wrong with a project, I needed I microscope to see the parts after they were blown to bits!!Twisted Evil lol!

Wayne I understand your point and agree that it would be a nice diorama, but I cannot (as long as I have my sanity:twisted: Very Happy ) come about to built a wreck!! I also agree with Ivan that a lot of research is needed and not simply do it. You have to understand crash dynamics, explosions, burning and breaking effects of the different materials involved. Another than that I agree that it is interesting idea non the less.
