MSMM Exhibtion

I saw the feature on TVM yesterday & I felt my blood pressure soaring up AGAIN for the 9th consecutive year, when I saw the COPIED EVERYTHING from the setup, to the colour of the table cloth, to the almost identical sound of MSMM!!!!!!!

Meccano & Lego or not, visible gaps in construction or not, the DECIET/DAMAGE inflicted onto the unaware public is a REAL SHAME & A PITY in its own right!!!!!!!

Paul, knowing you SO WELL NOW, I mean you could have been a bit more ORIGINAL way back then

Forgiveness is a VERY HARD OBJECTIVE & I ASK it of others while giving it back every minute, ON ALL FRONTS of Life, since I am a WEAK MORTAL, so Paul hope you FORGIVE ME as I FORGIVE YOU for the GLORY of SSM as God Wills It, as there is nothing Personal, just a FAMILY ISSUE & who does not KILL for LA FAMIGLIA

i counted about 10 AFVs...most of which were the large scale models previously shown...and yes there were many lego models...u heard ot...lego models!!! Need i say more...

Why did I waste 8 years of my good life ? This is a question which I will have to bear for the rest of my life. Eight years of hard work, to end up displaying lego and meccano.

Ray I fully agree with you - I apologise for being so STUPID. I should have seen this coming eight years ago.

I had no time to be original, as the beginning was forked directly from my humble pockets, while others enjoyed the fruits of my hard labour - gratis.

Brothers - Please accept my apologies.

Now that I am part of SSM, can proudly say that I will never leave this club. GOD WILLS IT. Hope that one day I will be able to make you guys proud of me.

SSM FOREVER - GOD WILLS IT

For once was watching NetNews yesterday and watched a feature of a promising expo, the guy featured said that they do Miniature art, an art of modelling [heard this somwhere else but forgot ], they only feature new models done this year [qiesha xi botta din! biss li rajt kienu fost ohrajn AFM patrol boats li dejjem rajt sena wara sena LOL] then I saw LEGO displays ... what they forgot to mention if they ever get international reconition ... insomma, then I was so overjoyed as near me I had my 2 kids playing with LEGO aswell and said thank God my kids are already artists ...

Inommha min ghandu gahjnejh f'wiccu nahseb jindunha ... hux!

My opinion......... if one wants to pursue an idea, as in for example, to form a scale model club, there is no harm. One might put all his/her energy to develop and construct a club to unite a group of friends who share a common interest and to pass the time.

Whatever the skill level of the club, that is not important, what is important is the company of friends and how comfortable one feels.

SSM has the best scale model builders on the Island, but as for me, I'd say one does not need to see the light to join SSM. I visited and was member in AME, MSMM and always felt good with the friends around me no matter what skill level they held. They were all trying to do there best... nothing more.

Maybe SSM has to see the light in other aspects, who knows.........

It is true that SSM is purely a true scale model club boasting international level skills but just because the other clubs consider exhibiting other hobbies together with plastic kit hobby does not mean we have to shun them.

Of course, since scale models are dear to me, I would never consider exhibiting them next to a dolls house or flower collection..... but that is why there is SSM.,.... for the pure

Noel has realy hit the nail on the head, SSM is for the PURE, I think that those who are un-pure have the right to join a society and that's why God gave them AME and MSMM.

Amen to that Joseph !...... still we can safely say,we are simply the best.......never will forget
that immortal expression when our members including myself and other veterans visited, and Participated in one of our International ventures in he UK at the IPMS championship, where we carted off most of the Top awards....
The bl*&^%dy Maltese are here...!!!!....that is our reputation !....not only in Malta but in every corner of the Modelling shpere world...our works are respected and admired by many international modelers world wide....
Viva l'SSM....but above all the camaraderie...friendship and a brotherly fraternity which really is the essence of our beloved club !
Throughout the years as I got Older and now feel honoured to be the Nannu of the club..
I have seen many members grow into adulthood.....from boys to men,to face the uphill climb of life, maturing into top notch Modelers and men of men...I feel so priveledged and honoured that I was a part of your lives and SSM has been and still is one of the most rewarding pages in my life....

The same beam of light descended upon me, a year ago, when I decided to join SSM.

I cannot even try to imagine myself surrounded by Lego and Meccano.

I was of the opinion that AME were amateurs, but only to be proved wrong; as now MSMM have made a huge "U" turn, with which, ended up as the laughing stock of the Island. I just cannot imagine the visitors faces, who have paid the entrance fee, to see a display of scale models - only to end up seeing a whole display of Lego and Meccano.

I wonder if Ray (gidimajs) is building Lego Mororbikes now.

I fully agree with Noel and Joseph, SSM is for the pure, and feel proud to be a member of such a club.

SSM FOR EVER - GOD WILLS IT

It is even GOOD to have low level/skilled clubs such as AME and MSMM, as they can attract potential new comers to the modelling world. These in turn can then see where they want to go in this great hobby...either build for a few hours of pleasure, or learn to make model buuilding an art. As Aldo ably put it...SSM is the UNIVERSITY of modelling while other clubs on the island are the primary level...both are necessary! Tancred and Paul both joined from MSMM. I remember Tancred once telling me he realised after coming to our expo that our club was the only way he could hone his skills and iomprove...and I fully agree!

But what bothers me much is their attitude! I remember a few years back when we held a competition in our expo...they had instructed their members NOT to participate in any way...CHILD PLAY at its best!
