If we keep within the boundaries of Internet Law (if there's one that is) or something of the sort, TanKred, you as our Scretary on whom ALL RESPONSABILITIES fall upon (you are the Leader of the house like in a Band Club) should look into the matter & defend our Sacred Club's Name with all means at your disposal always IMHO eh

If our club name is official and i believe it has been so for a good number of years, then we should tell them to remove that and change it to something else. Or are they trying to fool people into thinking that they are as good as us!! ......Just joking.

Sorry mates but our logo has never been registered, apart if it was registered in the 80s when it was born that would be just local ... so anyone can do what he likes with it ... by the way for abroad reasons we are IPMS Malta and our name is not 'sacred' as we have no TM nor R in a circle after our logo, so in simple words anyone can use SSM & IPMS Malta logo and Society for Scale Modellers when he likes ... news to some, but I have been warning about this for ages ...
On another note they are using it as a slogan so it is not a logo ... so nothing can be done about that ...

No bashing just to stop fruitless arguments and continue on our original mission and our pure trade mark, doing high standard scalemodels, if anyone copies our name let it be, it shows others take note of us ... finally is it not of this that our beloved club was created, we should be proud that the original IPMS copied us ; )

But sorry ta ..that is what is wrong with our club, only a few members knew that in 30 years... we are still not registered .... and you have been warning about this for ages ... and no one take action ....
I was told that our club is reg.. and we have the police permit aswell..by the committee a long time ago...
so now I understand that it was only bluffing and bla bla ...who was in the committe at that time
pity that these are small issues for some members ... but for me... as one of the founder members... OF The Society for Scale Modellers IPMS Malta ...it means a lot......yes it means a lot..

. They are using that play of words which happens to be our club name as a slogan. We are also using the name created by them 'IPMS' in ours after all.What is important, I think, is that we do not change the name ourselves from SSM to SXM - Society for X Modellers

Tancred pls note... that we are not in any way using there name ...repeat using there name... we are representing there name...exat words as SSM statue page 8 we are affiliated members of the IPMS. Malta since 1983...
and another thing pls I'm not arguing .. I'm just defending my beloved club SSM name ..love you all...

For Maltese Law our club is registered and we have a police permit. It is our brand name and logo which is not.
On another matter if we had all papers accurate are we willing to challenge IPMS UK? That means we have to go to international court, do we afford that ... so as I said just we can boast they are copycats and THEY copied us, apart we are part of their umbrella so we finally are 'brothers' in arms ... I think we are making a storm out of a teacup!!!!!

Ivan or anybody else that when we talk about these matters ... always end up saying that we are arguing and I don't now what else ...
I was trying to clarify what you and tancred sad ....about the reg and using there name...
The thing is that when Tancred saw the logo , he post it here to talk about ..so there is something wrong.... no....
Yes if we had the money we will challenge them why not ......but that is another matter ....now ...so as like old years we have to stay mouth shut....

Marco no offense just calming things down, as we are spinning in a circle for nothing ... but first they have just used it as a slogan so they are not infringing any branding rights and finally as we have nothing registered/branded so we can't do anything as I said before ... so useless crying on spilled milk, at least it was another IPMS society who used it ... but seeing this is it not time we check things out and register our logo, I think after 30+ years it should be done hux! I now of a local company which take care of international branding material [iWork] but again these things cost money, do we afford it, and for what? This is up to the committee and members to decide ...

I'm just clariyfing some club matters ..
Building models... or not... I still love and give all my support for my club ...
Even that I had students that I gave a lot for them ..and now they are masters in modeling ..and that's what I'm so proud of ...
Even that they turned traitors ..and are not wingy anymore ..I still love them .....

I must say what they have done really p%$£$£es me off 
....They know The Society for Scale Modellers exists...why ?.......... because whenever The Society for Scale Modellers went up to the Nationals we came back home with a cartload of honours....and I don't think that was ever forgotten...But I must agree with Ivan.....they are using it as a slogan....our Society's identity name is not registered...and yes we have to calm down....is-skiet risposta...
Anwser to this.....very easy...
Work hard at your models whoever goes up to Telford next year....every model must be a masterpiece, so we will show them what The Society for Scale Modellers really stands for...The best Modelling club in the world coming from a speck of an island in the middle of the Mediterrannean, called Malta !
Don't forget we were once branded The Kings of Scale !
So come on everybody let's work hard at this let's show the world that our nickname was there for a reason...is still there for a reason ....and will always be there for a reason !!! THE KINGS OF SCALE !!!!!
