Today I took this model out from storage, it is an AIRFIX kit in 1/72 scale. Very Happy Very Happy
It is all hand painted and believe it or not it is about 47 years old, I had built it when I was about 18,
a few years ago. Evil or Very Mad

Nice work on the seat Cyril. The colour scheme is a difficult choice, camo is really nice but so is bare metal. The plane looks good in any of the schemes. I believe there was also a solid green upper colour scheme which is also really nice. If you want something difficult but looking good, go for bare metal.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

As far as I know the solid green ones were F-2, stationed in Germany, mine is an F-6.

I have finally made up my mind what scheme to use, Smile For now I will keep it to myself to see how it goes. Cool

I am sure you will like it. Very Happy Very Happy

New gun ports added made from SS tubing cut and sanded to fit.
    These will be painted over.

Work has also been started on the undercarriage, which consists of kit as well as resin parts.
I am not yet quite sure about the scissor joint which seems to be protruding outwards as well as backwards. It is just beneath the brake pipes.
See the photo below, what do you think? lol!

The three greys scheme is not really that noticable, the demarcation is just above the roundel in front of the wing leading edge.

Not to be a pest but the groundwork distracts from the overall look of that beautiful bird, looks overscale the texture I am assuming it reflects concrete?

Beautiful finished model Cyril , the detail looks great ,..welldone ... but the base is as already told you does not do the justice ...... try for print base.. or have an idea to make one ..if I were you I go for a beige tarmac to do some contrast

Thanks to everyone for the positive coments. Very Happy
Regarding the base, I agree that the texture is a bit overscale. I started off with very fine black granules glued to the base board, but I made the mistake of glueing a second layer, this caused the overscale.

I will have to give it a new surface. I love Marco's idea of the printed base, I will try and make something similar. Idea
