very useful especially when it comes to mixing colours. i tend to use a single brand of acrylics which is a bit limited in range, and the breakdown of colour composition will help and quicken mixing time.

For store-bought paints, I mostly use Vallejo now, have some others but
almost never use them. Getting back into using the craft & artist acrylics,
the modeling paint is getting so expensive! I have a book on mixing your
own acrylic colors, but I'm still not that great at doing it

That is great.. I'm trying to sort out my paints right now and that is very useful to help me compare the paints to buy new ones.
