    Bf110 North Africa - 1/72 Airfix

Post  Noel Petroni on Thu May 15, 2014 9:18 pm

    Getting ready for first coats.

Got attached to this plane.... had to build it! Airfix....... I think they are good. Plastic is thick, detail very good and crisp... fit is excellent!

Note : Ferdinand in the background!

    Great Bird  cheers

Choose the Scheme wisely if I were you, since this has been replicated a couple of times by Brian not so long ago & by Marco many moons ago  Laughing

I don;t think that Marco's was a desert scheme. Mine were both nightfighters so it would look fantastic in desert camo.....like all aircraft do!

    Thanks Ray!!

    Thanks David!!

As you can probably note I gave a few panels a slightly different tone so as not to have a uniform colour.

Its beautiful Noel, well done, if i have to criticise something i guess i would have used a lighter colour for the panel lines. Otherwise it is really lovely.

    Re: panel lines.
I'm new to this stuff...... so I thought it was mandatory to make panel lines dark. I used AK dark wash which is like burnt umber.

I can still redo them with a lighter mix. Imma even in 1/72 you make them light? Ekk... because I like dark panel lines because it brings out detail... but if this a deterrent to the model... I'll change them. Xtahseb?

    Question:

Rigging next........ did the Bf 110 have one line from mast to tail OR two lines from mast to both tails??

Thank you all for your encouraging comments...... inhobkom!

@ Marco ... sadly... I can't tell the difference between a bomb and a fuel tank, let alone the versions. But I will learn.
