Cat looking for a home

My wife and I have made friends with a little stray cat who lives in our neighborhood, we call her Whisper. Whisper used to visit us every morning and evening for some food and a cuddle and although she's extremely friendly we cannot take her in because we already have a cat.

Last week, as we went out for Sunday Mass, Whisper didn't come running as usual.. she was nowhere to be seen. Same thing in the evening. It seemed she had disappeared. Next morning, as we were getting ready to leave for work we saw little Whisper trying to reach us and I knew something was very wrong. She was walking as if suffering from shell shock, staggering and looking in extreme pain. I picked her up, and took of to San Frangisk animal care centre to see what was wrong.

Whisper had her tongue stapled to her bottom canine! The doctor said that someone had probably kicked her in the face causing the trauma. During the examination he could also feel an air-gun pellet under her skin on her front leg. Someone had also shot her earlier in life which caused her to lose one eye and her voice in the process. At least her leg wasn't affected so she can walk, run and jump normally.

We spent last week nursing her back to health and she's now as lively and as friendly as ever. Today we have taken her for surgery to get her eye stitched up to prevent infections, remove the pellet and neuter her.

We are looking for an adoptive home for little Whisper. She's been through a lot in her life (she's 2-3 years old) and I think it's time she found a loving home.

Would love to take her in Wayne but i already have a dog and also an adoptive cat and i would love to keep my place at home and a bed to sleep in....if you get my drift!!

...and by the way, my dog holds the absolute ultimate record of having eaten a model and destroyed a forthnight's work and lived to tell the tale without having gone through any trama and bears no scars of the event.

What a horrible story! Hopefully they can catch the thugs that did that so they don't do it to anymore animals, or people. That's great that you're taking such great care of it and it's doing so much better so quick. Hopefully you can find a good home for it quickly. Some of our grocery stores have a small community bulletin board just as you come inside, anything like that there? Or an online bulletin board like craigslist or through an online newspaper?
