    Mini Wood Lathe etc

Post  tbezzina on Sat Oct 18, 2014 10:33 pm

    Hi All,

I am in search of a good local shop which imports lathes (mini wood lathe) and other model making machinery.  I have to say that i am either looking in the wrong shops or that it is really a limited market for such machines.

    thanks for your opinions.

    Regards
    Trevor

the most popular lathe shop was J Vella of San Gwann which has closed down

    Try CNC technique Qormi

wood lathes are normally large with i metre span

a metal lathe would be more of an all rounder

    I use an emco 5

    Hi David,

thanks for your reply. Well nowadays we see Wood lathes which are small in size even less than 50cm however what you said about metal lathes is somehow true since you can do more things.

If I may ask did you buy your emco from the shop you mentioned ? i.e.CNC technique

    No from the closed shop
The advantage of emco 5 is that itincludes a milling attachment
    They are sometimes availableon ebay
