Hi all well I know nothing about rigging so I'm going to do a cross between the Airfix instructions and ones I've downloaded off the internet (I could not possibly do them the way they are supposed to be, I don't have a clue as to where to start) I dont even know what the different lines are called.

also I bought this to do the ratlines with

but This came with the Airfix Wasa kit

which would be the easiest to use.

Hi all well the amati Loom A Line is total rubbish, the airfix doodah is brill though, so that is 10 quid down the drain, the airfix whatsit was free with the Wasa.

Rigging is deffinitely not my thing, I am thinking maybe take the top mast off just leave the lower masts and have it as its having a refit, don't know

Dont know why you are saying that. It looks great and besides a ship like that without rigging is not nice at all, its the rigging that really makes all the difference and brings it to life. Great job come on go for it!

Hi all well I've decided to plug away at the rigging and here's where I am now, I've discovered I can do more than one set at a time with this thingy, thus saving loads of thread.

Fantastic work, the only thing i can criticize is that you need to cut the horizontals closer to the vertical ropes where you have the ladders. Those short ends jutting out need to be removed, otherwise it is a grand job you are doing on that ship.

Well I know it's not finished but it's sold, my boss's husband came round to show me his car (some little horrors standing on a bridge lobbed a rock as he drove under and stoved in his drivers pillar and windscreen (the cars only a fortnight old £90,000 worth) he spied it and the Reale and said the Reale was too big for his new seaside house but he would buy the sovriegn.

Thanks, I will still finish it he asked how much I wanted for it and I said I don't know as I hadn't thought about selling it, so he just said well let me know when you've decided how much and I'll buy it,that makes it really difficult, what is it worth, don't want to get greedy as I have others in mind to build that maybe he will buy.

Maybe you can judge by the number of hours you took to build it plus all the materials you used and the cost of the kit itself. See how that works out. Assign a reasonable cost per hour and arrive at a sum and then see if it makes sense. Actually model building cannot really be priced because you will never build another model like it no matter how hard you try. Each model is a one off thing. You need to take that into consideration too.

He bought my airfix 1/12 Bentley too.I realise I can't charge by the hour no one would pay what that would cost, but if I get enough to buy the next model I want I would be happy, just don't know if it's worth it. Also don't want to scare him off from buying another one, do you think 100 quid or should I go for 80

Lovely work but you are mentioning ridiculous sums of money for that model. Might as well give it to him for free. All the work you put in is worth much more than that.

Thanks for the compliment but I think if it will buy my next model that would be great. The next one I want is Italeri's 1/12 Mefistofeles which is £89.00

By the way the sail looks really nice, very well painted and weathered but i must admit i don't like the flag, way too clean compared to the sails, needs some weathering.

Hi all a little update on this one, I've done the anchors and dirtied up the flag a bit as it was pointed out by bcauchi (and I agree) it was a bit clean compared to the sail.

Those anchors are really nice, they add so much to the ship. Really getting there now. By the way were there some crew members in the kit? Would look amazing with some guys on deck.

The look of the ship is really changing with the sails, looks really great. The scene in the choppy sea is full of action and cries out for a couple of guys on deck.

Great looking ship & waves. For figures, you could try N scale (1/160) model railroad figures.
