This is another project that has been started early this year but due to research and construction took over then estimated. So this is my next vignette a KO tank but with a difference ... till date I am still undergoing the construction and damages, this is an LVT by Italieri and interior by Verlinden.

It is fun doing damages, but needs pre-thinking during construction ...

Looking great already Ivan and as you said it needs a lot of pre thinking as to what to apply and where to apply and how as well IMHO pale Embarassed

Wish you luck with this one mate.....I'm sure you'll pull a stunner as always and will be a good contender for that "near miss" of a well deserved Gold @ Euro Evil or Very Mad

Yes Ray it is a challenge to create a KO tank and especially what I am planning to do ... it shall not be the conventional KO ...

yep mate the 'near miss' gave me more challenge then ever ... but apart from the medal it is an exercise of something different in the weathering and painting I would like to acheive ... but more of this while I progress as yet I am still miles away ...

Although unpainted it is already looking good. How are you reproducing the hits? Are you thinning the plastic and then pushing it inwards? The effect looks really great. I think that doing a wreck is the most difficult place you can go. This is going to be really interesting.

    Yep Brian

I have to work in sections and study original images of LVTs to determine to what extend damages go. My idea were dents and bulletwholes that with rust and age the metal was 'eaten up' creating a different mapping aproach to the wreck. LVTs were made of very thin metal, so plastic had to be snaded down to just micromm and then each dent and whole were 'sculpted' with a sharp scalpel ... labourous work and messy especially with Italeri plastic which is thick in certain areas. Still it is fun but have to control not to overdue and make each penetration and erosion 'bis-sens' or the overall effect is lost!

    Thanks for the support

When are you planning a downed eagle?

So this is an old abandoned vehicle suffering abandonment and not just battle damage. That is a different approach altogether.
