Marco, you a great person and a vast source of information for us modellers, and for that we thank you all.
Time has come for you to start showing your great talent, not only in information but to start building models, and you have to start sooner than later as 2012 is practically next door

After checking some pictures regarding the mosquito, it looks that the airframe was not extremely weathered. It seems that weathering was more of faded/patched paintwork, exhausts and paint chipping over the metallic parts, especially those which were more exposed to the airflow. Overall the impression I got is that the mosquito was a relatively clean aircraft.
A closer look at the picture of the mosquito from the same unit (of the model) shows that the airframe is quite patched up.
just a small note, the .303 gun cover (in front of the canopy) was not completely metal but a metal frame on the edges with a wood body (like the bomb bay doors)

Thank you Marco,
This helps a lot as I have explained in my other post.
By the way I made the spinner bands, they came out very good.
I used the wrap method as Alex Kontiveis suggested.
