Model Box Arts related to Maltese History ...

Post  iCocker on Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:48 am

This has been an ongoing idea, maybe in the club and could also be ideal to promote during our expos we show off related Kit Box arts that have been particular about our islands history ... maybe we try to acheive this collection for the club, if any do not like to part with their boxes, maybe we can scan or make a copy of ... so what comes to mind are:

    Aircraft

    Roden - 1/48 Sea Gladiators
    ? - 1/48 Malta Spitfire

    AFV

Italeri - 1/72 Matilda [Malta Camo]
    Trumpeter - 1/35 Beute KVII

    Figures

Elite - Munatones, Alfarez de Santiago, Siege of Malta 1565

    Marine

    Italeri - 1/35 SLC maiale
    Italeri - 1/35 MT Boat [e-boat]

    maybe there are others ...

Never thought there are so much box arts related to Malta ... Will let us face it many like to collect boxes and that is why they make nice box arts!

Ironically the iconic AFV box art of the Matilda was a cherry on the cake recently [pity lines are green not brown], BUT our local supplier overseen this boxart and did not care of ordering any!!!!

THERE WAS ALSO A VALENTINE BY ESCI EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT ON THE BOXART BUT ON THE INSTRUCTION SHEET
NO IVAN NO IT DID NOT HAVE ANY MARKINGS UNFORTUNATELY BUT RECENTLY I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM A FELLOW BRITISH MODELLER WHO SUGGESTED THAT THE NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE HULL COULD HAVE BEEN "ADUA" AFTER A BATTLE, THE RAC HAD A HABIT OF NAMING TANKS AFTER BATTLES AS WELL MIND YOU NOTHING CONCRETE JUST A SUGGESTION.
