Thanks for those drawings Marco. It will have to be an adaptation of the arrangement i made but all the equipment still has to be there and the gun mounts are the same, i will just have to separate them and place them on the cockpit floor behind each other. We shall have to discuss this and see what happens to the observer and gunners seat. it is in the way if the guns are arranged in that way. here is the work i did this weekend. It is the final detail in the pit. the twin mg 812 and ammo bin which i had already done before. i am not happy with the ammo belts and will replace them if i find something suitable. The mg is from Aires in resin, the rest is scratch built detail.

Great work as is expected Brian, a bit marred by the cylindrical ammo belt Embarassed IMHO when you could have "spent" a bit more "valuable" time (since you had to scratchbuilt) and tapered the bullets Shocked

I know its easier said then done and I don't want to distract you or anyone from the GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP your name carries, it is just that I for one, do expect a lot from the likes of you Suspect

    Warm Regards,

great detail as always Brian , yes the ammo belts look a bit rough, but again if you go for photoetched they are not that realastic....

Brian about the cannons I think you did not understand me .. because you scratch biult the 20mm cannons , they sould be the 30mm they are totaly different....

No Marco, i am sure becasue i have the aircraft armourer's drawing that in this case, they were the normal 20mm and not the 30mm but they were not installed at the rear of the aircraft but behind the pilot's seat as you found in those drawings. But they WERE 20mm. I agree with you all, i need to redo those ammo belts. Alternatively i can leave them out. What would you do? I prefer to have ammo belts but in this case, the shells are really small and it is hard to taper them individually. I have about 60 shells in each ammo belt. But you are right and i shall try to redo them. I made a jig to cut them all the same length. that was my third attempt.

Re ammo belts......don't tell me that in this age and time no one produces PE ammo belts in 1/48th scale? PE may be flat ok given, but they would look more pleasant/realistic IMHO then a cylindrical chunk Evil or Very Mad

There is a process however to "round up/beef up" PE bullets or anything Laughing Marijn Van Gils used PE 1/350th figures for his diorama "Van Gils Construction" which won BoS at EuroMilitaire 2008 pale he used super glue for the "rounding/beefing" of the figures pale I have the MilMod issue where he mentions this and can lend it to you for inspiration Cool

Sorry Brian I hope you know that I'm not picking on you or anything, you know me well enough by now that if I couldn't care a tuppence for you, I would not be opening my big trap re anything and would just say "NICE" and SHUT UP Twisted Evil

Good day bro and hope to see you on Wed bounce

Although i told you myself in the previous post that i was not happy with them it is good to hear your opinion, there is no scope in just going along with 'how nice'. i need to find something to replace. I will try to redo them or use photoetched. I found belts from eduard with .3 calibre belts in 35th scale. they will probably be good for this. i will go on with the build and in the meantime i will find something suitable. The AFV guys could help out here. thanks for your comments and for always taking a look at my work. Always welcome from a pitma like you. Do not ever think that i am that touchy. That is why we post here, to hear others' opinions.

Brian why instead of copper you use thin plastic rod and taper them with pencil sharpner and then cut them to same lenght..........
