Quest. to the Shermaholics!

This months Tamiya Model Magazine feature an article of the Tasca Firefly by Kristof P. many of us have admired last Euro. So apart it is a very good article and love how he manged some dusting much undercontrol with oil paint then pigments, I got confused with one issue. This Firefly feature those typical block tracks but with a shavron and three suds on the front, not mistaken more seen on British Shermans. Were these tracks all metal or rubber + metal. I had teh impression that all block type tracks for Shermans were rubber. My question arised as he weathered the blocks on the inside as if polished metal ...

Rubber block tracks have a much wider chevron Iv....

German tank tracked system became overly complicated which ultimately i think it was a draw back. As for the shermans being simple, it was a mass produced tanks, factories continued production unhindered 1000s of miles away from the war zone, the only problems being the atlantic crossing. More than simplicity was the sheer number produced.


As for simple tracked system i think it should go to the t34 with the whole christie(hopr i got this right] system, which was after all american designed but not used in their tanks.
