Georgios Drakos 1821

Hi Guys,
I think this subject is a challenge for all figurers. YS MASTERPIECES have released a new series of Greek History concerning the revolution against Ottomans in 1821.

Sculptor: Carl Reid and painting job by Danilo Cartacci. 350 pieces will be released and each figure is accompanied by Certification.

INTERESTING AND I HOPE WE SEE SOME MORE GREEK SUBJECTS. THEY ARE COLOURFUL AND FULL OF SPIRIT.

THE GREEK FIGHT FOR FREEDOM FROM THE OTTOMAN OPPRESSION IS AN INTERSTING SUBJECT. THIS STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM IS NOT MUCH PUBLICISED OUTSIDE GREECE UNFORTUNETLY LIKE THE MALTESE STRUGGLE AGAINST THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE EUROPEAN HISTORY DOES NOT GIVE OUR COMMON HISTORY THE IMPORTANCE THEY DESERVE. DENYING RECOGNITION FOR THE COURAGE AND SACRIFICES IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM

Alex El Greco, this is a masterpiece from the able hands of Carl, and an equal masterful painting from Danilo.

As our Alex pointed out it is a colourful historical subject, closely related to our struggle against a common enemy.

Related to your comments, I have to agree with U. 400 years Greece was under Ottomans empire rule. Our Great civilization was frozen for 4 centuries...No progress, no education, no development...Greece, as known from the Ancient years is disapeared and a New nation was emerged after the revolution of 1821.

Our very important revolution against Ottomans...is unknown to rest of the World.

As far as I know more figures will follow next, presenting many Great wordlords such as Kolokotronis, Kanaris, Papaflessas etc.

I will keep U informed if you like.

Personally, when I watched a movie of your History, I noticed many commons and related elements in our Histories. The need for freedom was one of them.

We have much in common. Unfortunetly to the younger generation - modernisation and liberal politics are 'killing' the patriotism and the fight for freedom our father's have sought and died for. We take everything forgranted and democracy did not come without sacrifices. Pity ...

On the other hand it is great to see YS coming out with a msterpiece in memory of your countries turbulant days. It is a grant piece of art, reflecting a veteran seaoned warrior, hail the sculptor and painter , as they have done a great piece of art!
