    F-15E 1/72

Post  danchircop on Wed Feb 10, 2010 7:27 pm

As promised here are a few pics of the model I finished a couple of days ago. It has been sitting in my stash for about twenty years. I only built a couple of models way back in my teens but they they all ended up as scrap. This F-15 was the last one remaining unbuilt, in fact it's an Esci kit, so I decided to build it and experiment on it.
I have never done any preshading before or applied washes, weathering etc.. So i grabbed the opportunity to have a go at all this on the F-15 with the idea that I'll probably end up ruining it, but I was ready to take the plunge. Airbrushing is also quite new to me but compared to the paintbrush it's definitely a great leap forward.
    Anyway here they are:

Ah, the trusty Eagle! I love this plane! When I was younger I had a big poster of this bird doing a vertical climb through the clouds.

    Beautiful work there!

Thanks to all for the encouraging comments.

@Marco- True Marco you do have quite a good memory, but no it's not the same one. That was an F-15B.

@Joseph- Next is a 1/48 Hasegawa, F-104G. I have already started working on it and the cockpit is nearing completion although progress is slow. I will post a couple of pics of the cockpit later on.
