Spittfire Mk. IXc Empty Spittfire Mk. IXc

Post  William Thu Jun 10, 2010 9:53 pm

I just bought the Revell Spitfire Mk.IXc.

It will be built after I finish the Dauntless but I'm starting reasearch and need Marco.
I want to the plane with a Maltese scheme(the kit gives you Austria 1944 and Germany 1945) so I will need possible schemes please.
Does anyone know if any company does the Vokes filter in resin Question Question

William, you don;t need the Vokes filter for MkIX in Malta. Will you be interested in building it as EN199, the one at the Aviation Museum?

The one at the museum is a MkIX and was flown by an ace who went by the name of Ras Berry hence the initials on the plane R-B. It would be in a deserts scheme and would look brilliant. I built it in 32nd scale so i can send you pics of mine. Alternatively there are a number of photos of 249 squadron mkIX's. You can choose one of these. Incidentally, 249 was the first squadron in Malta to receive the MKIX. Decide and i will try to find photos for you.

There were plenty of aces in 249 Squadron, it was the highest scoring fighter squadron of the RAF and many great aces filled its ranks. If you decide on EN199 i will find some details for you.
