As I am seriously contemplating of this caption when ready "My Order, My Knights" or vice versa or something within that line & obviously referring to St.John himself wearing the uniform of his Order, I baptise this thread St.John Red Hospitaller

Just a quick update since I can't take pios as yet

This will be as he was in the other thread, with the same face & more or less the same hair style since everything came off as I needed a more significant conversion to this one with slung sheild over his back, so I had to rework all the mail coif & reposition sheild slings over his right shoulder & under his left arm

Finishing the last few strands of hair & also fabricating a Saracen sword since St.John will be sporting the double handed bastard sword over his right shoulder

He will also be standing over a green Saracen banner (Ivan please note I bit your bait ) with the Saracen sword lying on it

Viva San Giovanni!

Nice idea of the patron! A bit too militant for the prophet but not a common thing to see him displayed for sure ... you had to do him red hux ... the Order is ours aswell [better translated in Maltese Smile

The Saracen Sword in progress so far just to post some pics & start breathing some life into this thread

It is fabricated from a piece of 3mm copper rod, hammered flat & filed & shaped accordingly. The guard is a mix of MS & Duro and filed & shaped when putty was dry.
The lion's head pommel is the same mix of MS & Duro stuffed into a Siligum Paste mould on the nose guard of the Saracen helmet which I made originally & which will accompany the other half of my dual build project, the Helmeted Black Hospitaller

I would go My Order first, as they first made a hospitaller order to help pilgrims then they became warrior monks ... nice sword !

Yes it is Dic Roe as are the Scimitar's hilt & pommel & also end of sheild sling on right shoulder blade
