Prosit Cyril, excellent job, I think that you really managed to capture the feel of that spit and the condition those poor planes used to be in. Brilliant work, I also love the way you followed the photo for weathering detail and camo pattern and colour, i think it is very accurate, based on the normal assumptions. Sublime job, very well done, the first true model of a Malta spit. I love it.

Thank you Brian for your kind words.
I really enjoyed building this model, thanks to the vast information in your book and the photos supplied by Frederick Galea.
When I look at it, I feel as if I am looking at an aircraft that has been left to the elements for a long while.

Thank you to all for your kind words. Very Happy

Marco, the decals are from MDC, while the squadron markings are normal decals painted over, as I could not find any in yellow.
As regards the canopy, I would not like to part with what I have left over as I have more projects for Spitfires in 1/32 scale.

IO will get you one if ever i manage to get myself to the club. I don;t think you need it very urgently since you are not the one to build a model per week!! but if you need it urgently i can even post it to you or we meet somewhere.

    Wow, Cyril....... Well done!

I just love that weathering! It looks so authentic. I'm sure it must have been a daunting task to weather it.

As Brian said .... A true first Malta Spitfire model!

Now you put me in a difficult position because I have the recent Airfix 1/48 that I plan to do as Burling's scheme and very weathered....... I Don't know if I can match your effect!!

    Hi Noel,
This kind of weathering goes lighter, being mostly in the sun, so all I did was lighten each colour used even aluminium, which to some might seem overdone, but I just followed the black and white photo.
I am sure you will get there.
