You are 100% right brian....... but I see nice comments to sub standard models happening often on foreign forums.

Even on this form it happens.

How do you tell someone that the model is utterly hopeless?

For example..... Ray....... prosit for the busts..... You made these as gifts so you probably did not go into the advanced hours of total artistry. From the photos..... I repeat, from the photos, I see highlights lacking on the blue areas. The eyes of the first bust lack depth and fine lining. And Titan's hair looks shiny.

Now this is a criticism reflecting my opinion.... others may think differently and Ray might say the he does not agree with me. I on the other hand am no expert but just experianced.

Brian....... what if the modellers thinks so much of his work that he gets offended by a remark? Like you said... he should not post pictures or state that he does not want to receive comments.

So that should explain any "shortcomings"       

What MATTERED/MATTERS 2 ME WAS/IS...MISSION, PROUDLY & HONOURABLY ACCOMPLISHED      
NO ONE & NOTHING ELSE MATTERS I'M REALLY SORRY       
And besides ALL of the ABOVE, as I said, I managed to learn & discover some DIFFERENT Acrylic Brands' SPRAYING PROPERTIES       

Nettuno (They are ALL 3 Titans) has a wet look on purpose since he's GOD of the Seas    & I also painted his "eye whites", BLACK so he's got a sinister look        something I borrowed/learnt from a "How to paint Fantasy Figures" Book         

Noel, I can assure you that they LOOKED MUCH BETTER "in the flesh" at CLUB...too BAD you MISSED them FOREVER        

Prosit Ray, wish i could paint half as good as you d0. My favourite is the knight, i love it, the next fav. is the sailor. They are really well done and the person receiving them should really be happy. Glad you removed the snails, they looked even worse when painted. The waves, on the other hand are simple but effective and they make more sense with the figure. Good choice!!

As for your comment Noel, there are ways to criticise without offending. Obviously you cannot point out all the bad things especially when there are a lot. I normally heap praise on the models' good points (every model has a good point no matter how bad) and then point out just one bad thing the person can normally fix without going through a lot of hassle. If he at least does that, the model will be better and he would have learnt something. But to just priase for the sake of saying something is not good for anyone. If anything, if the model is so bad and you don;t want to hurt the person, i just normally don;t comment at all. You don't have to comment if you don;t want to. Better than lying.

  Yes, Ray.... that's the problem with photos on the forum.... many times i was not at all impressed by models BUT when I saw them live it was a totally different story. 
So, I know that the above busts look much, much better.

Anyway, it was a nice gesture of you to present such a unique hand painted piece to your friends.
