Like the pose of this colourful subject Steve, how influenced from Polish Lancers his attire is? Were this unit engaged with them?

    Thanks guys.
Ivan, these were on the Russian side. They were pretty mean. Yes their uniform really resembles that of the polish lancers but not quite

It is totally brilliant like all your work Steve. The only thing i don;t really like 100% is the hand holding the lance. I think that it should be gripping it more. As it is, in my opinion, it looks a bit like the playmobil hands with the lance placed inside it. I think that the fingers should have been gripping the shaft and curled around it. However, it might be in impression i get from the photo. It is one thing to see pics and another to see it in real life.

Brian I fully understand what you mean but I have to correct you on this one. These lances had a rather thick shaft. Furthermore, the area where the lance is held is wrapped around with leather making it even thicker. So a full wrap around with the fingers is not entirely possible. Hence the strap around the wrist

Not at all my friend. Critisism, when done in the right way, is helpful and pushes one to better results

Yesterday i had was lucky to see this figure close up and i can confirm how misleading photos can be. My observation a couple of threads up was totally untrue and in real life, the man is actually gripping a very thick shaft. It would have been impossible to close the fingers tighter around it. It should have been obvious that you would not have accepted such a basic flaw but that is the impression one gets from the pics.
