16th lancer at Aliwal

Guys this is my latest scratch mounted piece. It's in 54mm. As usual I used some historex parts and a lot of putty. Not really happy with the pics so I suggest yu wait to see it at the club

Bad or good pics, it still reflects the EFFORT, which IMHO is to your usual high standard of sculpting & painting

As always you never sacrifice quality to quantity, and as I was telling you earlier on the phone, you produce them by the dozen weekly

Awesome Steve, totally awesome. The only thing i would have preferred would be to have the horse's mouth open. Both horse and rider are putting in such a tremendous effort and the moment is so intense. I hope you don't mind my comment, I always seem to put in a comment and I don;t want to be a pain in the ***. This is just my opinion.

Brian, not to worry one bit. As long as comments are constructive I don't mind at all. As to your comment, as valid as it may be, the only reason I chose to have the horse mouth like that is to vary a little from my previous efforts. As you can see from pictures from my last two mounted scratch, both horses have open mouths. Something told me to do it a little different this time round

To be honest i thought as much but i still think it would have looked better because both the horse and rider are bing pushed to the limit and when the horse's mouth is open, the feeling is better represented. Still, I love the piece, it is as great as ever.
