ESCI 1/72 German smoke unit nebelwerfer kit

Post  ignatius on Wed Jul 03, 2013 4:54 pm

    Hello all,
I am desperately looking and trying to purchase old Esci 1/72 German smoke unit nebelwerfer kits.
This kit consists of two nebelwerfer guns plus two sets of crew.
    These are ideal for convertions.
If anyone has this model which does not want to build, I would appreciate if I could buy them.
I have tried ebay but only found 1/35 scale.

    Hello Ignatius,

first of all - welcome aboard.

From what I know, nearly all the old Esci 1:72nd scale kits are now being produced by Revell. So if I were you I would visit the Import Agent (ESL Gross market) located at Zabbar, see what he has in stock. I would also buy a catalogue, to see the extended range of 1:72nd kits.

No Paul Revell bought only few, mainly the modern stuff but now they are doing their own range, what they have is most of the Matchbox range, Italeri is issuing the Esci WW2 tanks but not all yet, unfortunetly the Nebelwerfers are not yet in catalogue ...

But Iggy found you these from China, 1/72, no idea of brand though!

I have some s-model stuff and although simple to build the detail is quite sharp.

    Ivan,

yes you are right, Italeri has most of the old Esci moulds in hand. But if I am not mistaken a set was in production a couple of years back which included a Pak38, a Pak40, a 20mm Flakvierling, but not a nebelweffer. I am awaiting the re-issue of this set, as I need 5 x 20mm Flakvierlings, of course modified to have them on naval mountings, and get hold of some brass barrels for them.. Fujimi also issued the nebelweffer in 1:72nd scale, in the past. It was a box set which included also a kubelwagen.

    hello all,

Thanks guys for all your replies. The main reason why I need the nebelwerfer kit is not for the nebelwerfer guns themselves but for the crew that are with them. Being hard plastic, they are ideal for conversions (a leg from one, an arm from an other, the head from another figure, a nose or an ear from another figure Embarassed  - well not that much)
I have used a couple of nebelwerfer figure kits to make about nine figures seated on an Esci assault gun. All different positions, but now I have run out of figure kits, that is why I am desperate to buy some more.
My motto is 'never say die' - one day i will find a couple of old 1/72 Esci nebelwerfer kits.
If by any chance anyone comes across this kit, please do keep me in mind.
You will for sure make me bounce for joy.

    Ignatius
