hate to barge in but, for once doc got it right. the pictures you are refering to van could be missing the outer casing (not the outer cover but the sealing casing). i have photos which clearly show the flat inlet and outlet plate and the clean cylindrical shape of exhaust while the reference picture shows that the plate where engine pipe meets exhaust is not flat. will post pics once i will install drivers for scanner as im formatting pc at the moment.

note rear of exhaust is a flat circular plate and not tapered as seen on pic ivan used as reference, which btw is an excellent reference site just the same

Nice work!

It may be too late now or I could be wrong........ but even so I'm just curious. The half cover on the exhaust, right........ is it touching the exhaust? I would imagine that there would be a space between the cover and exhaust. What do you think?
