Here is this weekend's work. Thank god for the rain. i am nearly done with the skid assembly but the most difficult part is yet to come, the plumbing. what took long mostly is to understand what there was and how it worked. you cannot replicate anything you cannot understand. I hate just copying pictures without knowing what i am copying and what every bit of equipment does. Now there are lots o pipes left to go in. Then it is done and i can work on the tail section or the engine. Still a gun bay left to detail. It was difficult to organize how to make this area and still be able to fit the skid itself so half the assembly is still unfixed to the plane. that will allow for painting and also the installation of the skid assembly.

This weekend's work. one of the sides is now ready, relatively easy with just a hydraulic line and a connecting rod for the rudder control.



Most of the plumbing put in the other side. The front end of the pipes is organized but the rear still requires work for the different pipes to be terminated accordingly. Nearly done!

We spoke many times about this Aldo. It is nice to detail a model but that comes at the expense of time. My models take ages to be completed and seeing the large amount of models in your stash you would love to build, i don;t think you would go for it. I have very few models compared to you and i don;t think i will even live long enough to finish those. Also, it all depends on your ability to keep working in this way. My eyesight is becoming an issue and pretty soon it will just be out of the box builds.

I know Brian! I'm there already. That's why I gave up the commercial part of my work. My attention deficit has increased and I can only concentrate on the same model for a limited period of time before I need to move on to something else plus the eyesight deterioration will soon become exponential. My scale does not allow for that much detail anyway but I am cutting down to make up for time and the size of the stash. As long as I enjoy the end result, I will continue to do it. When this stops, I will dump everything.

But I can't see this happening for many years!

In the meantime, please continue to produce the masterpieces which have become synonymous with you.

Here's this week's work. Completed the underside with all the skid area detail. Here goes. The first two pics show the various fuel dump pipes. Made from an assortment of materials. The largest are plastic, the next in size are brass and the smaller ones are hypodermic needles.





The next two pics show the towing point at the nose of the plane.





The rest of the pics show work being done on the gun bay.

Thanks guys but most of this work is for nothing and has to be redone. There are a number of huge mistakes because i did not understand the photos i was seeing. Most of the gunbay will have to be taken apart and redetailed. But thanks for looking and your comments.

Excellent work Brian, even if you have to dismantle it!

Except for the time factor it is no problem, it will be much better the second time. Have dismantled everything and restarted. Can't have something which isn't right now can we!!??
