Roden suggests a bluish/Grey it seems but I'v seen pictures with a sky light blue colour! Which in your opinion should I choose?

Some paint this morning. First I painted in white to cover the horrible red plastic colour and most importantly to act as a highlight.
Shadows were sprayed in black.

Vermiilion Red they say......
I think fire red of testors is good no 1590 in testors range......

I used oils.
Raw Umber..because it's got a greenish tint mixed with a green.

Thank you for your encouraging words!
I adapted the idea to mask the ribs with Tamiya tape.
I will first spray black as shadows and than proceed with red. Towards the last red coats I'll remove the masking tape and airbrush a thin layer over the white ribs which should end up looking as highlights....... issa naraw

Nice dr1 Noel pity you did not manage to have this done by this expo ... Just a small suggestion maybe just give a darker gloss filter to the cowling, that will give a different contrast to the fabric wing .. Painted metal and painted fabric would have a different hue ... But lovely plane you got hooked HUD lol
