Ok I have sinned I made a Sherman but could not resist upgrading him ... so I am fond of MiddleEast conflicts I found this conversion made by the Egyptians in 1956 to challenge the Israeli, designed by the French with just upgrading the gun with an Fl10 one of 75mm autolauder, inspired by the 75mm used by the German Panther in WW2. This turret was the forerunner of the AMX13 french tank.
Trust the French, they were also upgrading the Israeli shermans to the mytical M50 tank with the same gun but retaining the sherman turret ... but that shall be another story!
This is a simple conversion by backdating the Heller AMX turret and kitbashing to create an M4A4 hull with diesel engine. Also some basic plastic card upgrades like the back sand shield, panels etc . This model is based on the one at Latrum in Israel. As you might guess under the Arab hands this tank prooved to be of no match to the IDF tank warefare and many fell victoms in the Suez Canal crisis ...
Painted in acrylics and weathered with Mig pigments, filters etc. The Fl10 were almost brand new when they challenged the IDF, so minor weathering here ...
