This gnome is a one piece casting except for the pipe holding hand, by Nemrod/Historex

The name on the plastic bag read Marin, so I presumed he is a man of the sea, a mariner

He'll be depicted as a marooned mariner on this tiny island which will be surrounded by water

Marin's marooned island, walk around

There is a dead flying insect at the front of the base actually an insect & a head of his brother stuck downside up for clarity

There is also the remains of a Spider which got half of her legs & abdomed devoured by ants before I painted the whole thing

The acetate wall is stuck with GATOR GLUE (Doc you are an Angel...Ooops sorry Alex you are an ArcAngel ) & it will serve to hold the resin mix pour at the end
After the Butterfly Princess's water little set back, I'm AIMING to come out with guns blazing on this one

Just finished fixing the 3 GIANT WINGED ANTS & THE WINGLESS GIANT ANT that I caught from near club onto the Micro Island (love it JF )

Fixed them (AFTER I SORT OF KILLED THEM with a needle lance ) as they still twitched afte a while & covered with diluted PVA Glue as the Gator is in the construction workshop downstairs

Now the whole thing is on the bathroom window which is ajar so that everything will be dry by morn & hoping that the other micro ants are not Cannibals & won't devour my Giant Babes I'll brush them with Gator tomorrow as I said if they're still there that is

Alex, I know you'll LOVE & SMILE re this whole process

Tried to Google Gnomes but did not find anything spectacular so please redirect me at your convenience.....no hurry as I am painting the Consul first

No Cannibalism by the Micro Cousins during the night Yippeeee

Now the scene is like this.....2 crawling up to poor Marin from the front and left side & would be partially (1/3rd roughly) submerged in the water 1 at the back would be fully submerged & the last 1 has fully crawled out a da water behind poor Marin's left foot

Also changed the 2nd word in the caption to MarDoomed instead of just Marooned

I just hope that the Giant Ants' Innards would DRY UP till I pour the resin/water as I do not want the crystal clear water getting any discolouration of any sort

Actually Bri, at first, I only thought of depicting him as a marooned mariner

The idea of the "insects" (since the original half devoured poor spider is not an insect) only cropped up while I was making the micro island and which continued to develop in my mind since I was not happy with the "puny insects" that dared invade my construction workshop

So, on Wed & while having a drink & a chat outside club, I saw a GIANT ANT colony + their GIANT WINGED COUSINS so I hunted & caught what you're seeing in the pics

My Imagination stops at the scene I am depicting, smiling @ Marin being so unarmed, cool & unsuspecting of the CRAWLING PERILS around him that is why I altered the 2nd word to MarDoomed (marooned/doomed)

However, if one had to ask the same concerning question as you did, then he would be opening the doors for further Imagination

Marin is ARMED after all as his pipe is GLOWING & he's got ALCOHOL in that bottle

And Marin's HANDS & FEET are quite BIG as well

Bri, do you still think he'll be eaten alive by the GIANT ANTS?

It will make a GOOD POLL if our Insect Expert, Doc Roe (I'm sure his cousin Alex is nothing less on this matter ) would enlighten us if an ANT of that proprtion, compared to poor Marin's stature, is capable or not of winning the encounter, knowing that an ant is strong enough to lift 7times or how much her own weight

For the record ants can lift up to 80 times their own weight by their jaws...ants on their own are rather insignificnat and uncapable of major waring feats...But swarms of ants like the Amazonian army ants (as the name implies) have been known to even attack successfully unweary animals and even humans...so their power lies in numbers...much like the Sherman tank Twisted Evil

Judging from what Doc just wrote and seeing that maybe our little friend is limited to being attacked by a few random ants and not an Amazonian army of ants, then i guess that his huge fists and legs are enough. Subject closed from my part!
