    Knight Yarry!! Empty Knight Yarry!!

    Post  Samwel18 Mon Sep 07, 2009 2:48 am

    Well guys,

I've never done a lot of painting in my modelling life......I began this yesterday.....It is going to be ready for Euro...

Well the story of this little bugger Smile An idea that Ray gave me....is to do a helmet buried in the ground and that Yarry was escavating/searching for it... =] the nameplate for it is to be '' Helmet Big for knight Yarry Very Happy...this is a great sculpt me by Raul Latorre Smile for now only the flesh is ready Smile i had to enlarge the pics a bit cause the fig is a bit small....smaller than the usual 54mm cause he's a hobbit Very Happy

Now for the groundwork....I tried to do sort of like a pile of soil..the soil that he dug out to search for the helmet....but i think i should do a small area...what do you think?? also i made a scratchbuilt Laughing Laughing Laughing shovel Smile my first scratchbuilt thing i made Very Happy:D

Any comment and critique is more than welcome...

I love the idea. i think that the flesh looks great. I also like the groundwork. If you let us know, we would have found a shovel for you in that scale.

Keep up the very good work ... would be much nicer though if you clear a bit of groundwork to reveal the helm more and rust it mate, it's metal and if it's a relic surely by now it has become orange [adding much more colour to contrast] and the shovel needs some earth on hux ... cool idea, prosit to Ray for the tip!

    Hey guys,

First of all thx for your comments...much appreciated and will use your advice accordingly Smile

Noel the mix is from this article.....he can PAINT FOR SURE SmileSmile http://www.planetfigure.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12338

U can vary the mix if u want...for a warm tone mix....use some sunny skintone with the 815 basic skintone...also I dnt like using 815 I use beige from andrea its a little bit subtle than the basic skintone Smile for the high highlights only Smile

If u want a cold mix use pure white very diluted for the last high highlights..then wash the face with a mix very diluted...1:12 where the latter number is water Smile mix some 909 vermillion and black AC 26 andrea.....you add the black to the red to get a reddish brown mix...and wash until the desired effect..then move on with the shadows......you can use some dark red from andrea for shadows and some glazes very diluted with violet Smile

That is what I use for my faces of figures.....in these last 2 1/2 years I've been painting, I've experiminting a lot on faces and that's my 2c advice i can give you but heyy that's my WAY Wink there are others...it depends on what style u want Wink but I advise u that you use this mix Wink

P.S. If you need any help just nudge me Smile
