Tremendous Steve, my favourite aspect of this bust besides his face is the leather. I think that you couldn't have painted it any better, it looks so real and used, the feeling is captured perfectly.

May I just add just a suggestion though, just to make things more realistic, lamellar armour was made from small pieces of metal, will not be so homogeniouse, some pieces may be 'bright', others dull, it is different then plate armour. Maybe just adding a couple of washes in different hues will help to get the authentic look, lammellar armour was not polished bright and with wear and tear will dull and rust very fast and create a patina, only the edges will be polished as these touch metal to metal. I have just seen one in hand from a recent purchase by a re-enactor and this is still unused and have this patina already ... do not consider it as a single area but each plate for itself ...
