Thanks Noel, the camo was applied free hand, no masking.

Re: A-1J Skyraider
A question was raised on facebook by some italians on what color the flap part that is exposed when the flap is lowered should be. One argued that on the model is wrongly painted and that it should be white because he always saw it white and other one cautiously advised him that there where indications that the flap panel was camo as the rest of the flap. I did come across photographic evidence to suggest that it followed the camo pattern and was not white. Whilst not a 100% confirmation because it is not the same aircraft, it is very highly indicative. Do you see any white on the top part of the flaps? This does not mean that my model is 100% accurate but I try to do my best. As much as one think or believes he knows everything, the reality is there is always something new to be learned!

Re: A-1J Skyraider
Don't see any white Joe, might have been white on some examples if they were overpainted with camo colour over a white plane and the flaps were kept in the up position. might have been light grey. If they were navy versions and then painted in the camo colour then they would have been light grey which could wrongly be mistaken for white especially in b & w photos. i think u did it right.

Thanks for your input. If it was navy no problem cause it would have been easier and pretty straightforward. TT-778 had a white cowling and light grey underside sometime before repainting the underside black and cowling green, infact the pylons remain in the light color after repainting. Up till now all the evidence point to continuous camo on the flaps of USAF A-1 in SEA scheme

Prosit Joe, as always the finish on your models stands them apart. I believe your choice of colour of the flap to be correct.
