Hey! Aircraft guys!
If you look at the above photo you will notice rain streaks on the fuselage!!! That means you can weather those flying thingies likewise!
After all that were left outside day and night. Rain and humidity!
Regards
Noel

Keen eyesight Noel
Very valid point IMHO and a real starter for an amicable debate between the Wing and the AFV Nuts. Speaking for myself, I have NO IDEA how you AFV guys manage the pigments, and I do not think any Wing Nut have (I stand up for correction as always) so any help you AFV Nuts can offer to us mere mortals

PROSIT NOEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been saying this many times ... I guess a Spitfire in a Maltese airfield would not look different from my car parked everyday out in this dusty climate we have!
I admire two guys who take this weathering a step further on planes Marchus Nicholls and Spencer Pollard, probably as bought built AFVs and took the habit ... but I still think that dustying and weathering have place for planenuts as well ...

Re: Some thing for the figures
To be honest i had Doc's book about pigment weathering and i was really tempted to try some of the techniques on my all black Me110 if it is ever ready. i was dying to try some rain streaking and fading. I think that the effect on an all black plane would look great. I would need some tutorials when i get to it. You tank guys would have to advise.

GO FOR IT BRIAN!
BTW rain marks are not done with pigments just water, tamiya flat and few drops of earth colour over a satin finish ... pigments are good for dusting and mud effects ... but may I emphasise again use pigments not pastels, it makes a BIG difference!

A very moving picture indeed!!!
Bill Horan made a similar vignette a while ago during the ACW........very moving indeed when you see a soldier offering a drink to the enemy
