Spanish Armada Officer 90mm

Another "Oildie" pirat

this is Almond's 90mm Spanish Armada Officer which was actually painted in between the Assyrian King and the Highland King.

Painted entirely in Oils, this dude never travelled to Folkstone.......it won its Class and the Category Champion (Best Figure) at the IPMS UK'98 in Telford Laughing

I remember this, Ray....I think it was still in the OIL AGE.

Joseph, there is not better or best.........it is not the medium, but the finish which counts.

Having said that, every medium has pros & cons so the best way IMHO is to capitalise on the forte of that particular medium and make the most out of it for your benefit.

i've always liked this guy and i think that whether it is oils or acrylics, your figures are great. i think it is more the experience than the painting medium. You have painted so many other pieces since that time. One day you should try just as an experiment to paint a same figure in acrylics, just for comparison's sake.
