Cockpit almost ready...it took me 2 and a half months to arrive at this stage...so to finish this bird prob it will be end of next year...

Sorry for the uploads ...my first time doing it like this...later on I will post photos of my finished P-40 ,that bird had to wait for more then 6 years to be finish,in the meantime travelling from my maltese workshop to the scottish one...

Hello Jes ..Hej that some F-4 cockpit... looking real nice painted.. is it the kit cockpit...

Lovely work Jes, my only critique is that you went just a tad overboard with the dry brushing, you need to apply a careful dark (maybe black) wash again in certain areas, otherwise looking really nice.

No Marco Its a Kendall cockpit and Brian I think its more the flash of the camera that makes the drybrushing that bright in reality , in normal light it is not that bright. At the moment I am working on the airconditioning of the cockpit, panels opened on the right hand side and also on the cannon. Lot of cutting and sanding and I havent even started scribing the wings yet. Wings will be a challenge, need to replace wheel wells and moving surfaces. marco knows something about it. Had also to replace intakes (one of the photos above shows the new ones seamless).
I will post more updates as I go along, prob next will be the cannon but to make everything fit is not that easy.

Alclad Marco...they were not ready on that photo....just showing the overspray/feathering, it took me another day of masking after that to give different shades to the tail planes...

Some more updates...hope that the next one will be the finished article...still another 6-8 weeks of work ....

Jesmond you captuerd the camoflage pattern very good and the after buners and tail are beautifull panted welldone ....

Marco I spent alot of time masking the camo, with blue tack (but white ...the area I like the most is the cans ,Alclad is superb for metal...the wheel wells , needed alot of work to make them fit, but well worth it...biggest dissapointment is that after all this work , I found out that the gun area in the Verlinden set is not right, but now its too late ,not even Marcus Jellyman realised that...

To tell you the truth , I noticed but I'm trying to be very carefull about crticize models from now on because.....but anyway most of the detail will be coverd.......

to be honest its not the gun itself , its the door hinges that are in the wrong position..

Ok but the gun looks a little under detail....

to be honest Marco, I tried to look to improve it a wee bit, but the only thing that I could fit,and look ok ,was the pipe, for the rest it would have looked like a nest....

Jesmond all in all it looks brillant already...

Yes I like this way, it looks much better without all that weathering ...and the camouflage looks Brillant.....

I am going to be in Malta for the Easter holidays, Tuesday to Tuesday, is the club open this Wednesday? If yes I might pop in (if my wife gives me the permission the last time that I saw her was early in March so , you know what I mean lads ).
