    I was wondering if You saw th1:72 Scale German WW2 Heavy Battle Cruiser K.M.S. Scharnhorst 1943 - Page 13 06072710is on the news Paul. I think its on MSN.com. This is a Captain in the Polish Navy. The picture he is holding is 3 in one. The top pic of course is a drawing of the Graph Zeplin, the bottom is a arial photo while the ship was being built, but the center pic is a sonar scan that was just compiled of her on the bottom of the ocean by the Polish Navy. now hopfully an expidition will get the deep sea Submersables to go down and take some good pics. I never knew that the Soviets sank the ship after the war, I thought she had been scraped.

    Some pictures of the work in progress, on the main range finder assembly, located on the fore tower of the ship.

    To start with, I decided to scratch build the FuMO 27 radar, of which some pictures are posted.

    Thanks for your comments, but working hard is not enough, I'am afraid. The FuMO radars were a bit of complicated equipment, and I have to be extremely carefull, if I want to produce a correct scale model of the assembly.     I really need a pice of good advise right now.

    I should have the Radar ready by end of this week, and start on the FuMO 26 radar, which is even more difficult to produce, as it has a whole lot of antennas in the shape of figures of 8, with a specific pattern. But anyway, shall take the matter bit by bit. Suspect

    I am planning to have the radar finished by this weekend, so that I will start on the FuMO 26 radar, and the main rangefinder assembly. Rolling Eyes

    Every piece of the ship feels like to be a kit within a kit, with every piece with it's share of detailing.

    Never the less, I believe that bit by bit the ship will eventually be ready.

There are some good renderings there and an article about the development of the model.

    The first radar (FuMO 27) is ready now - 100% complete with first coat of primer coat. cheers

    Tomorrow I shall kick off with the next radar - the FuMB 4 SAMOS. The size of the radar is smaller than the one I have just completed, but more complicated. I shall be needing all the patience I can gather and some help from the one above. Cool

    Next Monday I shall be posting the pics of both radars. Basketball

    wakey wakey - more pics.

    As I said the FuMO 27 radar is mainly ready awaiting the front matress, which is the last thing that shall be fixed in place. The radar is made from a stagering 173 pieces. Each piece was cut to it's proper scaled size, and fixed in it's place by using the venerable McPoly adhesive and Zap A Gap super glue.

    The radar shall be made up from some 250 pieces when ready. Being smaller in size than the other FuMO 27 radar, one can appreciate more the extract of detail making part of the said radar.
