One of my long-term projects. There any tips on how to simulate Afrikaans dust on the airframe?
What do you think about it, lest Spray it with Afrikaans dust filter from MiG?

Wow that is really beautiful, as for the dust you can either lightly spray a highly thinned light grey or else use the dust powder as you said. Both will work. you can also use pastels which will let you remove it if you don;t like it. I would go for that one first.

Thank you. In the past I used pastels and powder from Tamiya, but only for small areas never for the whole kit, so I asked for advice.

Jurek take a look at my desert 109 and see if you like it. I did not just cover the whole aircraft with dust but certain areas got a fair amount of it.   Dust and sand settle mostly on horizontal surfaces so the spine of the fuselage, the wings and tailplanes got the most covering of dust. Then there is the underside which would have dust blown by the prop over it whenever the plane took off or landed.  So you have to think a bit and put dust where it would normally settle. I did not put any on the fuselage sides for example. you mustn't overdo it otherwise the entire plane becomes one dust infested machine looking more abandoned than used.
