Great Brian I did some painting today too...Voss's workshop hanger's wooden floor using the method on Wingnuts manual. It turned good IMO. It's mostly done in artist oils with matt medium added. Hopefully it will dry to a matt finish

Brian, I know that I'm only seeing pics and I can't really judge from the pics, but somewhat the chipping looks a bit pecular/even.......ok the enlargement is UNJUST on every model, so I presume it looks much better and less pecular IN THE FLESH!
Sorry mate,

Sorry mate,
On second look, yes I think I agree with Ray about the chipping.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
you are right, some things become obvious in photos. i shall try to fix that although many of them will hardly show once the cockpit is put together.

Great work on the cockpit, your parts look better and more detailed than the Dragon ones. I agree with Ray, the salt left the chipping to uniform, may be making some of them a little larger and elongated might help?

Brian...I believe that this time you over done it with the salt...Why dont you follow the Brian's famous old rare methods!!! Start thinking like Cauchi again!!! (take a look at your Corsair!!! )

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
I have redone the cockpit sides and they look much better. I had got completely carried away with the chipping and i removed a lot of it since i re thought of the places most likely to be hit and scuffed so most of it is gone and the rest has been touched up, actually scratched to vary the chippings.
Here is the pit floor and some of the equipment fitted onto the Dragon model.
This is an afternoon's work, roughly 2 hours to put together seat belts for the two kits. The belts are the excellent offerings from Radu Brinzan. I will not survive without these.

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Thanks guys glad you like them, i really recommend those seat belts, they make one hell of a difference and now Radu has produced both US and RAF belts as well as the of Luftwaffe type so you have all you need.

Not only 'survive' but if a warden catches you without them you will get a hefty fine!
Excellent work as usual, Brian!

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
A very frustrating weekend indeed. I don;t know why but with every build, it all fits when you are dry fitting and then when it is all painted and ready to be glued in place, nothing fits any more. This is the situation with the mostly scratchbuilt pit of the revell 110. i have most of it done but will have to rebuild a couple of items which now do not want to fit into their place. They have either grown during the night or else the pit has shrunk.
The final photo shows the items which do not want to fit in the pit. The ammo container is now too high and also too wide so it needs to be reduced in size overall and the 20mm schrage musik firing equipment is also too large. I shall redo these two components. the cockpit for the dragon 110 is complete and waiting to be put into the fuselage.

May be When you were trying the dry fit, you changed cockpits..

Awesome work as always Brian, and while Marco's thought might be feasable even though I don't think you would commit such a fatal error it is a COMMON OCCURANCE that HAPPENS TO ALL MODELLERS ALL OVER THE WORLD
Dry fitting is a smooth and fitting puzzle, while when all is painted it just turns into a horrible nightmare

Re: A tale of 2 Me110's
Thanks for the comments and i am glad you like the work. But by my reconing, i should have had both fuselages glued together this weekend and now i am repeating the process of making some parts again. By the way, the ammo bin is done again.
