Interesting Alex, would like to see that sub one day especially from expert hands like Louis's
It's not a usual sub, more like a submersible aircraft carrier, and besides we don't have any subs at the expo or.........

Re: Step by Step building the IJN Yamato
Absolutely beautiful job on the Yamoto! One of the most realistic ships I have seen, the figures not only gives scale to the ship, they also impart a realism that so many ship modelers don't do. I especially love the genuine wood deck, I don't think I've ever seen one done better. It was always trying to figure out a way to get one that realistic without having to lay down individual boards which would drive me crazy, your way seems so simple and yet so effective!

Re: Step by Step building the IJN Yamato
Hi Brad
Thanks very much for your kind comments...yes I did really enjoy the Yamato build...it had been lying there on the shelf for ages till finally I decided to have a go at the beast....The deck wasn't easy but it was worth it ...it made all the difference...
Thanks again for your kind comments

I was just looking through this build thread and WOW is all I can say for the masterpiece that turned out.!!!
I am confused on the photo though. Are we looking at the stern of the ship? And if so is the ship racing backwards through the water? I hope someone says I am wrong....
