Brands like Bronco, ICM and Miniart are producing/preparing to a good selection of civilian WW2 vehicles, many fitting the impressed, military and civilian scene and surely a good compliment to any airodrome ... all in 1/35 though!

With all due respect guys, if you really want to produce some cars for next exhibition, you are on the wrong track totally!! Get away from WWII and get into some spanking new stuff, shiny sleek sports cars or at least something civilian. Why do we always have to think WAR!!

Brian, might be the excuse to do civilian material for some, personaly I do not see me building a Ferrari but there is always an excuse to built a civilian car to complement another project, we found the excuse that an impressed civilian car can still be used after this group built besides any war material Wink

... just watch the news and see all those Technicals - Toyata hi-lux patrolling the sands of Libya tongue

If we want to expand into a civilian car section it doesnt make sense producing cars impressed into military service or jeeps etc...

The new section we need is one with sports cars, tailer trucks and motorbikes etc...

That's just it Dottore, AWAY FROM WAR!! Why does everything we do have to do with war??!! People like to see models of vehicles they can see for themselves in the streets in everyday life. If we are doing this just to have a vehicle section in the next expo let's go this route. More military material will not be appreciated, might as well stick to AFV's. I don;t like to do cars so if i do one, it will be something sporty and shiny. That will be my effort, or some great looking bike, that is what we are missing the lovely stuff Ray and Mizzi used to come up with. The most i would digress is to go for classic cars which might prove to be very popular too and nostalgic with the public if they see an Escort Mk1 or a Morris for example.

I Agree a 100 + 1% with the Dottore - it is either going to be a Civilian section or nothing. Using civiian cars pressed into military service no longer makes them a civilian vechile, + complete with military tags, so thats I feel - is cheating

We need a new section, more likely revive the section, come on guys, I know it is hard for most as it is to me to built something civilian but that is the spirit.

p.s. - at the most do it the other way round, ex-military vechile into civilian one, eg - morris tilly, kind the one oliver did selling veggies!!

but once you have put a gun on, it is no longer a civilian vechile, actually it makes it a military target. The whole idea behind it is still a military one. I know it is hard guys but we need to make an effort. If civilian is difficult, we can still go for police, fire-engines, ambulances etc....... as long they are not military versions
