Once some one posted this interesting tool and i built one. first i started to punch 2mm plastic of a 8mm diameter , than i cut a piece of masking tape and stuck it up side down, after i drew a line on it.
Than i started to place one by one on the line. after reaching the length required i took tamiya cement and painted glue on it. Tamiya cement melts the plastic so i pressed them one by one to have that figure of 8. than i took a ruler and i slid it from the masking tape using its edge.
The day after: i took the first layer of the chain and stuck it on the tape, glue was applied, and again i started to place plastic on each one

You have the makings of a great master modeler my friend. The subjects you choose are great and your execution is brilliant. Thanks for the explanation for the chain. Well done, that thing looks super real.

Brilliant, just one small thing, the wheels are too new and clean compared to the rest of the vehicle.
