My SSM Bros

We used to fuse off our ADRENALIN with this topic before a EuroMilitaire or two (I guess there are a couple of threads or even more, some started by yours truly & some by the others )

So while I AM STRESSING MYSELF with Lt.Weymar to try & get him sorted out in time for Joseph's LVG, & while I might not be coming to compete in the "flesh" with you lot, STILL an International Competition is round the corner & SSM's name & reputation is at stake once more :twisted:so my Adrenalin is pumping up the volume as without any doubt, this is SSM's benchmark where we as a Club, ALWAYS went MOST, ALWAYS competed MOST & ALWAYS won Most on average per SSM Capita

So my SSM Bros, in between your STRESS why not stretch your legs & fingers a bit & post your thoughts, your PANIC LEVEL (for those who are still not ready ) what are you working on during these last remaining days & what are you taking with you to Telford

Besides Lt.Weymar who will stand on the LVG's starboard wheel , I will be sending some "old work " with Joseph & nephews depending on the available garage space for hire in da boxes

Lt. Weymar well under way

Breeches & right coat sleeve are ALMOST ready
Left sleeve should be "beefed" up a bit as the whole jacket must be turned into a coat

Some tweaking here & there tomorrow & we should be ready for the lengthening of the coat...Joseph should bring the LVG here so we'll DO IT together

So STRESS GALORE when the LVG is around & I have to FIDDLE with WET PUTTY & TALC on PAINTED surfaces

The Bloody Tweaking & ReSculpting took me longer than Bloody Expected

God Willing, after this coffee in the Oval Office I'll be down in the workshop filing & sanding yesterday's final layer of MS & Duro

Will shoot pics asa right sleeve & breeches are DONE before I proceed to the left arm & the actual coat

The "coat effect" has already initiated with the right sleeve IMHO & I'm quite proud with the result

No Mass today so Bambin Ahfirli Pls

Tweaking & sandig should be ready & done later today & as I said I'll shoot in progress pics before I proceed to the "Coat"

However & I am sharing this on this thread (which I created to RELEASE the STRESS & keep the actual thread CLEAN) yesterday before I went for night duty, I stopped by at Joseph's to view the LVG's centre section in place & moreover to view the adjacent connecting rigging (which Joseph had overlooked when I BOMBARDED him as to WHERE ARE THE F^((i${ rigging....."Ray le m'ghandux rigging warajh jahasra") & my heart SANK as I have a bad feeling Lt.Werner is gonna be TOUCHING TOO MUCH RIGGING

Until 17:00ish (when the LVG comes here) I'm gonna be STRESSED GALORE, after a turbulent brain storming night till bloody 06:00 & after just a 4hr "sort of stormy sleep"

Last BAKE of the Day

Just added the coat buttons & subsequent holes & he's in the oven

Lt.Weymar is not looking that bad on that wheel

At least, LVG will fly to Joseph's this eve so the STRESS will be cut off by 50% (LVG lying there near me since Tuesday Ajjut )

Will give him a gentle fine steelwool rub in an hour's time, shoot pics, undercoat (PRAYING THERE WON'T BE ANY VISIBLE BLEMISHES) shoot pics again & START PAINTING.......FACE 1st

RoBert asked me to shoot pics in a s-b-s way for the face....that is after each step, I stop & shoot pics

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I forgot to add 2 button holes on the left side of the coat

Discovered at noon while I was sanding down things

So had to drill, fill with putty & make the incisions with a scalpel blade & put back in oven till 13:00ish

Still would be 15:00ish before I start painting the face

Assemble and fit the seatbelts
Paint and fit undercarriage-door hinges
Make, paint and fit DF loop
Polish and fit the canopy and wind shield
Paint and fit belly aerial
Re-touch gun and gun barrels (Damn slick brass)

Forgot to add that the Tiger Mossies have returned after yesterday's rain & caught me without my Flak Jacket (anti mosquito spray on my legs) so while toiling with the "tailoring" I was agonisingly being shot at from all directions

Undercoat drying up in the oven so nearing my presumed deadline of 15:00ish of face start

I shot pics & will shoot some with the undercoat BUT will post them just before I drop dead to sleep as I'm gonna SPLASH PAINT TILL LATE

F-5 still not yet finished, it is fighting back with teeth and nails. It should have been ready 2 weeks ago, but the after market decals(only one option) would not stick no matter what I threw at them. Ordered a 2nd one as I have no option and the 2nd set, somewhat adhered better, still not good and the cherry on the cake - they broke in many parts so it was a jigsaw puzzle assembly of the decals. Still in the race for now!!

Just posted pics of Lt.Weymar up to the Halloween stage (black base coat )

Started the face...eyes OK after I remembered that I must add the upper lashes as I kept WONDERING WTF WAS WRONG with them then bang it dawned on me (ara veru MA QIEGHED SEW XEJN JIEN ) but struggled a bit with the flesh tone now ok on the right track, but will STOP NOW & hit the hay & wake up afresh for a painting marathon
